BALTIMORE, MD (November 28, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) is ringing in the holidays with the annual Holiday Bus. Beginning Wednesday, November 30, the Holiday Bus will operate on weekdays through Friday, December 23 providing free rides to customers on CityLink and LocalLink bus routes. This is the 44th year the MDOT MTA Holiday Bus has brought excitement to the holiday season.

“The sight of our Holiday Bus on the streets of the Baltimore region is an annual tradition,” said MDOT MTA Administrator Holly Arnold. “We hope the free rides, special decorations and holiday music will spread a little cheer. It is one more way the MDOT MTA team is giving back to our community.”

The Holiday Bus, featuring an updated festive design, also will be part of the 49th Annual Mayor’s Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 4. The parade, which begins at 1 p.m., is sponsored by the community associations and businesses in North Baltimore’s Hampden and Medfield neighborhoods.

The schedule and location of the Holiday Bus changes daily, but MDOT MTA customers can track the Holiday Bus by using the Transit app, which provides real-time information for all fixed-route services including Local Bus, Light Rail, Metro Subway, MARC Train and Commuter Bus. The Holiday Bus is displayed with a special icon. For information on the Transit app, go to mta.maryland.gov/transit. For clues on where the Holiday Bus will be located, customers also can follow MDOT MTA on Facebook at facebook.com/mtamaryland and on Twitter @mtamaryland.
