Join MDOT MTA in Supporting Toys for Tots Drive

Customers encouraged to donate online or at local toy drop locations

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BALTIMORE, MD (December 10, 2020) – For 26 years, the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) has been honored to support the annual U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. MDOT MTA and MARC Train, along with Amtrak and Bombardier Transportation Service, continue the tradition this year by encouraging passengers to donate online to support children in need. In 2019, MDOT MTA collected 1,283 toys and more than $29,000 in monetary donations.

“MDOT MTA is proud of MARC Train’s continued commitment to the Toys for Tots program despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 health emergency,” said MDOT MTA Administrator Kevin Quinn. “Now more than ever, our agency appreciates the generosity of our riders and looks forward to working together with them to support this year’s drive.”

The Toys for Tots collection is underway and MARC Train encourages customers to donate to Toys for Tots online at www.toysfortots.org/donate/. Customers can make general donations or visit the “virtual toybox,” which allows donors to select and pay for specific gifts. Toy donations can also be made at local area toy drop-off centers listed on the Toys for Tots website.

MDOT MTA is one of the largest multi-modal transit systems in the United States. MDOT MTA operates LocalLink and commuter buses, Light RailLink, Metro SubwayLink, MARC Train service and a comprehensive Mobility paratransit system. MDOT MTA’s goal is to provide safe, efficient and reliable transit across Maryland with world-class customer service. To learn more, visit mdot.maryland.gov or mta.maryland.gov.
